As the vampire’s eyes opened, the party took that as an aggressive act and began the battle. Some ran, some stood their ground and fought. As the battle raged out, swarms of bats suddenly came flying into the top of the tower, adding to the chaos of the evening. Getting space became a priority.
Gold Brain disengaged and ran with everything he had to get out of dodge. Dara grabbed Shava and dimension doored away to a guest room nearby. Nuka, who was still a cockatrice and trying to buy time for Paavu to get away, took a shot at the vampire in the hopes of turning it to stone. The scratch did not take, however, and the the vampire grabbed the cockatrice and took a bite out of her neck, causing her to turn back into little elf form.
Paavu stood tall (well, medium) and faced the vampire to now buy Nuka time to get away. They traded blows, and a bit of charms. The party came up with a plan to melt ice with a wall of fire and get the vampire into it. Dara conjured a wall of fire, which started a growing trickle of water down the side of the hill. Paavu was grabbed by the vampire, and as it was trying to bite his neck, he was launching the two of them out of the tower and down the hill of the wall of fire. Landing into the flow of water caused panic in the eyes of the vampire, she turned to a cloud of mist, and disappeared into the fog.
